car engine cooling system

Called around for quotes for work needed on my car and theirs was reasonable plus they'd come to me. I liked the fact I wouldn't need rides to drop off or pick up my car from a shop and believe they're able to provide slightly lower prices due to not needing shop location.

They scheduled my repair quickly were very polite and finished quickly. From now on I'll be recommending their services and can't imagine using another for myself.

Thanks guys! Jennifer P. 4/24

  1. Overheating: If your engine temperature gauge spikes into the red zone or if you see steam coming from under the hood, it's a clear sign of overheating, which can be caused by cooling system failures.

  2. Leaking Coolant: Check under your vehicle for any puddles or spots of coolant. Coolant can be green, pink, or orange depending on the type used in your vehicle. Leaking coolant can indicate a problem with hoses, radiator, water pump, or other components.

  3. Low Coolant Levels: If you find yourself needing to frequently top up your coolant reservoir, it could be a sign of a leak in the cooling system.

  4. Coolant Smell Inside the Car: If you notice a sweet smell inside the cabin, it could mean that coolant is leaking into the heating system. This could be due to a leaking heater core.

  5. Visible Damage to Hoses or Belts: Check for any visible signs of damage such as cracks, bulges, or leaks in the hoses connected to the radiator or the belts driving the water pump. Damaged hoses or belts can lead to cooling system failures.

  6. Engine Misfires or Stalling: In severe cases of overheating, your engine may start misfiring or even stall altogether. This is a serious issue that requires immediate attention.

  7. Discolored Coolant: If the coolant in your reservoir appears rusty or discolored, it may be contaminated and need to be flushed and replaced.

  8. Rapid Fluctuations in Temperature: If your engine temperature gauge is constantly fluctuating between hot and cold, it could indicate a problem with the thermostat or another component of the cooling system.
